Fly-fishing in Karoo

In the Somerset East area, about 45 minutes’ drive from the Malpepo farm, we have a close collaboration with a professional fly fisher, Allan.

Since we started our farm in South Africa, has Allan been a friend of the family. He teaches courses in fly fishing in the beautiful area of Karoo, but is also arranging trips for you to go on alone.

Fly fishing is a fishing technique that requires lots of precision and patience, since the line has to be swung in big circles before it is thrown into the water, in an attempt to make the fake fly at the end of the line land as light and silently as possible on the water, like a real insect.
