  • The view from the farm

Malpepo is located at the South African province Eastern Cape, which is an area in South Africa without malaria and bilharzia.

The climate in the area differs in regard to the time of the year and you can experience cold winters as well as very hot summer months.

The average temperature in the summer months (December – February) is between 25-30 degrees. However, the temperature can vary from everything between 15-38 degrees. The air is dry and it hardly ever rains.

The temperature in the winter months (June-August) can drop below the freezing temperature, especially in the nights and in the early morning hours. This period is often very rainy and humid.

Our preferred hunting months is both in the spring (March-May) and in fall (September-November) due to the temperature in these months is seen as more suitable for the hunting activities. In spring and fall the temperature is around 18-20 degrees. The weather in these periods varies a lot and for some periods there might be some rain.
